Week 4 - Day 4

FIRST PERIOD - SPENDING TIME WITH GOD

Every era can accurately say times have changed. You live in the technology era. Browse the internet and you can see new gadgets that are produced to save us time; like cell phones. They allow you to make calls, take pictures, play your favorite music, and give you access to the internet. Ironically, cell phones can also do the complete opposite; they can be time suckers and remove the need for one on one personal conversation. I bet you could easily spend an hour on Facebook, or an hour texting your best friend about your weekend plans. When was the last time you spent an hour with God? Did you know that He longs to spend time with you? God wants you to seek Him and get to know Him on a personal basis. Sometimes spending time with God will require you to be adventurous, or hardworking, like on a mission trip. But at other times, spending time with God will mean resting quietly in His presence. Want to be really connected? Turn off that cell phone, put down the iPod and move away from the computer, and invite God into your room, into your heart.

TODAY'S DRILL:
List your three favorite things to do and time spent on each activity. Do you spend quiet time with God each day? This week set aside time with God (try for 20–30 minutes). Go somewhere where you can be completely alone with God. Pray, talk quietly, listen, and rest in His presence. After that time, write about your experience.
