My name is Tracy Phass, and I have been a leader in Student Ministries for four years. I have also been blessed to be a Small Group Leader for the past three years. When asked to write for this series, I was excited to write about being "Beyond Recognition," because I know how difficult and how rewarding it can be to live your life in a way that is pleasing to God and effective for His Kingdom. As I wrote each daily devotional, and researched God's Word for the scripture, I was reminded of my own walk. I reflected on my weaknesses, my strengths, my trials (and believe me there have been many), and my triumphs (and yes, God has blessed me in so many ways). But most of all, I was encouraged and renewed by God's unfailing love for us. My hope for you this week is that you will also be encouraged to seek Him, to grab hold of the gift of salvation, and allow each challenge to change you. I pray that you begin to realize that conformity (becoming like everyone else) is easy but unfulfilling. Living a life that is different from that of the world's standards is not always easy, but it is always pleasing to God. It is when our lives become unrecognizable to the word's standards, and the focus is not on ourselves but on our one true God, that we become "beyond recognition!"
