LOVING OTHERS
Read John 13:34-35
School is all about relationships. You may think that I was going to say that school is about education and sports. But the entire eight hours you spend in school is about relationships. While in class your mind drifts from boring biology to the cute guy or girl next to you or the drama that just went down in the hall. You are lucky if you remember what is due for homework in between all the "OMG" moments. This entire week is focused on relationships. Not romantic love; the love that we are called to show one another. In John, Jesus gives a command to love one another. Being a command, it's bigger than just a rule. We are to love the same way Christ loves us. Jesus tells us we must love all people regardless of how much drama they cause or how difficult they are to get along with. Last week we talked about taking risks. Love is a huge, God–size risk. If you can love like Jesus you will be remembered long after high school as someone who was different.
TODAY'S DRILL:
Write down someone in your life who is easy to love and why. Then write down why it is hard to love others like Jesus. Why is this a risk?

That's easy - my wife Tracy. She knows all my faults (I know what you're thinking "Mike has faults?" But yes there are a few....okay there are a lot, any Tracy still shows me the unconditional love that God commanded!
